External privacy policy for Byggmax AB
For us at Byggmax, it is important that you and your personal data are processed in a responsible manner with respect to your privacy and that you are notified of what information we collect about you, how we use it and how we do this. This policy also describes your rights and how you exercise these rights.
What information do we collect?
Byggmax collects and processes information within the areas and functions listed below.
When you use our services or shop with us, you may directly or indirectly provide us with information about yourself in a number of different ways, e.g., when you make a purchase via our website, create a customer account, contact us or use any of our services for which you provide personal data.
Information you provide us with, may entail:
Personal and contact information - name, e-mail address, mobile phone number, social security number, invoice and delivery address, etc.
Payment information - invoice information, bank account number, etc.
Property - property designation, apartment number, etc.
Information we collect about you - when you use our services, we may collect the following information:
Collection of address information – at your request, address information can be obtained to facilitate purchases.
Information about goods/services - details of the goods/services you have purchased.
Financial information – approved credits through our partners.
Information about how you have used our website- e.g. how you found us and how you use our services.
Device information - such as IP address.
Geographical information – e.g., your geographical location in order to deliver goods to you
What do we do with your information?
When you purchase goods or services from Byggmax, your personal data may be saved and used to provide, perform and improve our services.
Under the purchase agreement, your personal data will be processed in order to:
- Carry out your purchase of goods and services and, if necessary, verify your identity for credit purchases etc.
- Provide you with customer support and information about products and services you have asked us about
- Deliver goods and services
- Any warranty and complaint handling
- Administer, develop and test our systems via which our services are provided
If you provide your consent, your personal data will be processed in order to:
- Manage your customer account
- Send out newsletters
- Send out press releases
- Cookies or similar technologies
Byggmax also processes personal data based on a balance of interests such as:
- Improving our product ranges and services and the systems via which they are provided e.g., through troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, etc. (business development and quality purposes)
- CCTV (preventing, investigating and detecting criminal activity)
- Recording calls in customer service (for quality and training purposes)
- Saving initiated order placing/shopping basket (providing good service)
Byggmax will also collect and process personal data in order to comply with applicable legislation such as the Accounting Act, tax legislation.
Communicating with you
Byggmax may also use your data to communicate with you via mailings, telephone calls as well as via electronical means. We may target offers to you based on previous purchases and also invite you to participate in customer surveys/business development initiatives. If you do not wish to receive targeted communications from us, you can unsubscribe directly or e-mail [email protected].
Please note that any change will not always apply immediately. We will comply with your request as soon as it is practicable and will endeavour to make the change no later than 30 days after we have received your request.
With whom might we share your information?
In order to provide our services and deliver your goods to you, we may transfer to, or share your information with, selected third parties.
Suppliers, subcontractors and companies within the Byggmax Group - In order to fulfil our commitments to you and for other purposes described in this policy, Byggmax may share your personal data with suppliers or subcontractors as well as companies within the Byggmax Group.
Payment and credit companies - In order to manage your payments, your data may be shared with financial operators. If you choose to use credit services provided through our partners, your personal data will be shared with payment and credit companies.
Authorities - Due to legal requirements or with your consent, Byggmax may share your data with authorities such as the Swedish Tax Agency, the Swedish Police or other authorities.
Security
We strive to protect your personal data and maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures in order to prevent inappropriate or involuntary disclosure, use, access, loss, alteration of or damage to your personal data.
Only Byggmax or our subcontractors' employees who need access to your personal data for a specific task will be able to access your personal data.
What we will not do with your data
We will not sell your personal data to third parties without your permission.
Where will we save your data?
For the most part, we will process your personal data within the EU/EAS. If personal data is transferred to or processed in a country outside the EU/EEA, Byggmax will take the necessary and all reasonable legal, technical and organisational steps to ensure that your personal data is handled securely and with an adequate level of protection comparable to the protection offered within the EU/EEA.
For how long will your data be saved?
We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary in order to fulfil the purposes specified in this policy. When we save your data for other purposes, e.g., to comply with accounting requirements, we will only save your data for as long as necessary and/or is statutory for each purpose. We will regularly carry out thinning activities and delete personal data that is no longer required.
Your rights
The right of access your data.
You can request a copy of the information we have about you as well as verify the information we have about you. This copy is free of charge and we will strive to provide you with an answer within 30 days.
Right to rectification
You have the right to have any incorrect or incomplete personal information changed/corrected.
Right to be deleted ("Right to be forgotten")
If you do not want us to save your data any longer, you have the right to have your data deleted provided that it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. However, there may be legal obligations such as the Accounting Act that prevent us from immediately deleting parts of your data. In such cases, we will only save the data that we are legally required to keep. If the processing is based on consent and this is revoked, your data will be deleted.
The right to limit
You have the right to demand that processing be restricted if any of the following are applicable:
- if you dispute the accuracy of the personal data.
- the processing is illegal.
- we no longer need the data but you need it to be able to. establish, assert or defend a legal claim.
Right to object
You have the right to object to processing if the legal basis for your processing is a balance of interests or public interest.
Right to data portability
You have the right to have the personal data you have provided to us that is automatically processed transferred to yourself or a new data controller if the legal basis is consent or that the processing has been necessary in order to fulfil an agreement and this does not affect the rights of third parties in an unfavourable manner.
Right to withdraw consent
You have the right to withdraw any consents you have given Byggmax at any time.
Profiling rights
You have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling, and which may have legal consequences or similar for you. However, this does not apply:
- if it is necessary for the conclusion or performance of a contract with you.
- if it is permitted by applicable law.
- or if you have consented to the processing.
General terms and conditions for #YesByggmax
There is no greater fun than watching all of Sweden in a construction phase; for this reason we are very happy when you tag us with @Byggmax_Sverige and #Byggmax in pictures on social media. We may ask you to share your photos on our own channels. Either on byggmax.se, in our newsletter, in our flyer or on our social channels (Facebook, Instagram).
By replying #YesByggmax to a picture after we at Byggmax have asked for permission to share your picture, you agree to the following:
Without any numerical limitation, you grant Byggmax a non-exclusive, royalty-free, global license, to use your picture for marketing and/or advertising. You grant Byggmax the right to edit your image and also give your consent to us using photos in which you can be identified for marketing and/or advertising purposes under The Act on Names and Pictures in Advertising (1978:800).
When you answer us with #YesByggmax, you also declare that you own the rights to your picture and that you have permission from any people who appear in the picture. You also declare that you are a private person (and not a company), that you are at least 18 years of age or have parental consent, and that our use of your picture cannot constitute a violation of the rights of any third party or constitute a violation of the law.
In doing so, you release Byggmax from any obligation to pay you for the use of your picture and agree to hold Byggmax, as well as any persons acting on behalf of Byggmax, from any costs and losses that may arise as a result of any claims or requests from third parties through Byggmax's publication of your picture. You shall be held solely liable for any damages that may arise from violations and/or copyright infringements, regardless of whether the picture has been published and/or removed from our channels.

Our goal with Q&A is to create opportunities for a dialogue and discussions within various home projects. The forum is open to everyone. In order to be able to ask and comment, you must approve our privacy policy.

To achieve the goal of a user-friendly Q&A where we give each other tips & inspiration, we need to create an open and rewarding dialogue where everyone is given the opportunity to be heard and share experiences. By posting a contribution on Q&A, you agree to the following:
- Maintain a good and respectful tone. You are welcome to contribute with criticism and complaints; our aim is to continuously make things better. However, we may remove recurring contributions and discussions where there is no forward progression - to make room for others.
- Comments or content that involve threats, personal attacks or calls for criminal acts will be immediately removed. People who repeatedly write such things can be blocked without warning. Serious threats and incitements to commit criminal acts will be reported to the police.
- In accordance with GDPR, we will remove contributions containing personal data that risk harming an individual or infringing on personal privacy. You can send us such information in an email or letter instead. We will also remove any classified material from Q&A.

The Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) is the supervisory authority that oversees Sweden that the persons handling personal data comply with the Data Protection Ordinance. If you believe Byggmax is processing your personal data in violation of the Data Protection Ordinance, you are entitled to file a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection.
