Byggmax Green Ventures: start manufacturing of own circular products
Today Byggmax is holding an Investor Update to describe the current market situation, update on the financial development and share more on the growth potential from recent acquisitions. In addition Byggmax Green Ventures is launched, a new initiative to produce circular products. The aim is to produce products in high customer demand, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
”Byggmax strong development continues. We have taken a lot of market share during recent years, and last year’s acquisitions provide further potential for organic growth. We now also see a large business potential in climate friendly products, an area with strong demand from our customers. To produce commercially successful products that avoid greenhouse gas emissions is also a long term viable approach to create real change and contribute to meeting the climate challenge”, says Mattias Ankarberg, CEO Byggmax Group.

The first investment within Byggmax Green Ventures is already made and the first circular products will be available in Byggmax stores and e-commerce this autumn.

”We have decided to do all we can to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and take on the climate challenge. The investments we do within Byggmax Green Ventures aim to make a real difference for today’s emissions. We are already evaluating further investments and are also looking actively for new ideas, that with our help can become new products on Byggmax shelves”, says Mattias Ankarberg.

Byggmax is today also presenting new targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These include a very ambitious goal to reduce emissions from own operations (so called Scope 1 and 2) by 90 percent until 2027, compared to 2020. The new targets follow the methodology of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG) and the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi).
